Mum's operation

On Thu, Mummy went for a surgery on her left foot due to extreme pain when she walks. The diagnosis is foot metatarsalgia and hallux valgus. Seems very complicated but basically the surgery is meant to straighten one of her toes which became crooked and relieve the foot pain she experiences. The doc removed some small bones and inserted screws so that the toe will be straight. Thank God everything went well though we were quite anxious. Guess no matter how minor an operation may be, you still are somewhat jittery over it.

Sis with the crutches we borrowed from Auntie.

Mum's left foot in a cast. The one who did up the cast even put a Cinderella sticker on the cast! =)

Me and Mummy~!

Phew, with the op over and Mummy back at home.. the real work begins.. Cos Mummy can't really move around, I gotta help her with most of the housework she does around the house. Woah... I dun think I have done so much housework in my life before! Good training I guess... =p and also help Mummy around and tend to her needs.. very tired leh... I am definitely not ready for kids! Hahha! Really need strength!

My Sis' Photo Album

Sharing some of the nice pics from my sis' photo album. The photos were taken by her fren and most of the layout done by her. Think the photos were very nice cos her hubby, Adriel, and her were totally at ease. Her wedding was quite DIY, she only rented a gown, flowers were gotten separately from a florist, she engaged her own makeup artist who's a personal fren and borrowed many of the other items.. amazing!

Our Photoshoot Experience

Our photoshoot was very close to the selection of gowns, with only 1 week in between. So the whole 1 week before the photoshoot was super packed - went to get our hair trimmed, coloured, buy my 4 inch heels, Joe his belt, mani and pedi, also to decide where to take our pics, go for gown fitting... no time to get any beauty sleep or do hydrating mask! It was packed packed packed! So rushed that we only really packed our stuff on the day of the photoshoot. Not a good idea cos we ended up late and makeup for myself started 1 hour late! My advice to all couples-to-be is you leave at the very least 2 weeks between selection of your gowns and the actual shoot so that you have ample time to prepare. Do pack your stuff long beforehand so that you can just concentrate on getting enough rest the day before and the actual day of the shoot.

As for what to pack for your photoshoot, what's most important is what you are going to wear, especially for the guy. The guy must bring his own stuff like shirts, belts, watches and dun forget the socks! For the female, dun worry about makeup or accessories as the makeup artist will help you match with what she has. Unless you're very particular, you really dun need to pack extra accessories.

Also read on forums to bring items like electric fan, insect repellent, snacks, mirror, etc.. seriously I dun think there's even time to take these items out of your bag. What's really critical are tissue paper and mineral water. I din even bring out my slippers and was in heels the whole time. I guess if you have a fren with you as an assistant, they can help you with these items or else just go with the flow. The more items you have, the more things you have to worry about.

But something to put a bit more thought in are the props you wanna bring along.. for example some couples bring their pets, a gift that has special significance, maybe something that is representative of a hobby you both share and enjoy. Anything that would be unique to the both of you would be best.

Hey... why is this turning out to be an advice column? I'm supposed to share about my photoshoot experience!! =)

So like I mentioned, we were an hour late.. makeup started late.. Joe forgot his socks and had to go buy... in my head, I was stressing over where to go while discussing with my photographer, outside was drizzling... in the end, I remembered my cg member, Karin's words.. just enjoy the whole experience and have fun! Following are some shots for you to enjoy...

Joe getting all made-up!

I like this hair-piece! And check out the fake eye lashes! Finally a time when my lashes are longer than Joe's!

The makeup nice? Shan't upload my before makeup pic though!!

This looks a bit Taiwanese yah? Got hair extensions for this look!

Take a closer look here~ hmm... dun think curls suit me yah?

I like wearing the kua.. very elegant right?

Here we are tucking into our chicken rice lunch before going out for our outdoor shoot. We went to Orchard Road, Botanic Gardens, Love Sculpture and Raffles Place... despite all the hiccups, it was really fun.. felt the happiest when I was at Orchard Road crossing the road and getting a lot of attention from passer-bys.. ;)

Went to select the pics last week and realised one thing - the background is really just a setting, what truly matters is the expressions on the couple's faces. So just relax, be spontaneous and be yourself! What's most important is your true personality is being captured. For this, I think Joe did very well cos his facial expressions are very expressive =)

F.I.R!

F.I.R. (minus the I.) was in church today! Other than the fun and excitement and the sweetest love song at the end, it was really inspiring to hear how God has changed them! I checked out some of their older M.V.s and I feel there's really a change in their countenance. Now they are living out their lives with such purpose, serve-ing His purpose! His love indeed changes lives! =)
