One Year Together

Wow, one year of marriage has passed! (actually it's more than a year cos our wedding anniversary was on 5th July!!) I did a little photo collage on some of the things we experienced together as a newly wed =)

It has been a great one year of living life together, doing housework, cooking, getting rid of mildew (!!), putting up our Christmas tree, going for jogs, putting on face masks together, going to Taiwan for a holiday, hosting guests at our place, having steamboats...

Thanks Dear for taking this journey of love together with me and though there has been tough times and emotional rides, we will keep on running this race we have started! Love you lots dear dear!

My 1st Blogshopping Experience

Ok here’s my first blogshopping experience I was supposed to share about! I’m on BonitoChico’s mailing list so I will get email updates when they launch a new collection. But, many times when I check my email, the collection’s has been launched for around a day or two so most of the clothes have been snapped up! At times BC will run backorders so one day I saw a backorder for this very unique dress. So I thought why not?

I quickly transferred my money over to the designated bank account via Internet Banking and posted a comment on the completed transaction details. After a few days I was wondering why there was no news yet on when the dress will be delivered to me. I checked the site again which stated that a mass email will be sent once the backorder has closed. Well, well… so more waiting to do… I did finally get that confirmation email about a week later which said I would get my dress 2 weeks later! More waiting!! But I guess some things are worth waiting for!

After 3.5 weeks later, I had the precious white envelope sent to my home! Thanks to my hubby who was home to receive it!! He was “threatening” to open it for me!! I was really excited when I got home, but not without first taking some pics of the parcel!! =)))

I like the dress very much though I had to wear a tube inside cos I find it too low-cut already. Of course, with the price $3X in total plus postage, you can’t expect European fabric! Well, I got quite a few compliments on it too! What do you think? =)

NEW THINGS

When Dr A.R. Bernard came two weeks ago, he shared a very impactful word during the Leaders' Meeting. He shared about how sometimes when we repeatedly do something, crystallisation happens - the thrill of doing is gone, one is just going through the motions and maybe your heart is no longer in it anymore. Does this describe your job, your relationship with God, your ministry? What is then needed is something NEW. A new thing brings explosive power, it stirs one up, it creates momentum. That is why buying new clothes brings that joy, setting new goals at the start of a year brings expectancy, starting a new job brings excitement.

And that is also why revelations are important in our walk with God. A revelation is the awareness/consciousness/revealing of something NEW. Something that that may have been there all along, but hidden from your consciousness. A revelation will give you energy and strength once again.

I was deeply inspired that I needed to try NEW things, to seek NEW revelations, to gain NEW knowledge and thus NEW prespectives.

Yellow Post-it Pads

I got to know the creator of these really cool Post-it Pads....! What a really cool idea? I hope I get to pick up one of these Post-its someday... maybe I will just ask him/her (it's a secret!) to do one for me! =p

Sleepover at Sis’ Place

Had a mini sleepover at my sis’ place since Joe is on mission trip and her hubby was at overnite prayer meeting =)

She showed me the beautifully done up guest room especially for my mum.

The beautiful lamp which cast even prettier shadows onto the walls!

The extremely cosy room which smells very nice too!

The flat screen LCD TV which you can swivel around so that Mum gets to watch her fav Korean dramas while lying down!

Then the highly anticipated gift!

It’s from Kate Spade! Wow!

And the super cute card that she hand drew!

Wondering what it is… OK I knew it was a wallet already! Hahha!

Yay! My very first Kate Spade! Thanks Nis, you are one of the most generous persons I know! Although I know your bank account is crying now, I will pray for you to be laughing all the way to the bank soon =p Love ya!

We spent the night watching TV and trying to chat but kinda fell asleep in front of the TV.. oops we are no longer that young when we could stay up chit chatting and irritating each other! Wahaha!

Decentralised Service

5 July 2009 was a groundbreaking day for the whole of CHC! Instead of the normal 4 weekend services, various zones will run their own service, with their own band, choir, ushers, chorus board team, etc. My zone, ET Zone, has been familiar with running our own zone meetings, but not on such a large scale in the main hall of Expo Hall 8. It was definitely an opportunity for all to rise up to a new level and Edmund, our Zone Supervisor, would get the chance to preach in front of a 1000-odd crowd! Wow! It was just all very exciting, but also nerve-wrecking!

Yours sincerely was suddenly “promoted” to Chorus Board Team IC! It was really a stressful yet great learning experience! The days before the service was spent in front of my laptop till the wee hours, trying to get updates on the Order of Service, confirming the sermon, ensuring the announcement slides were properly done, making sure nothing was missed out, allocating manpower, etc. Honestly, early in the week, I was hoping they made a mistake and someone else would be the IC! But reality can’t be denied and I had to quickly step into this new role given to me. I was so thinking that I couldn’t do this but thank God for His encouragement! He told me that it just takes me stepping out and His grace and strength will see me through. =) Although there were a few hiccups (who could forget the wrong titlebar that flashed during Chen Mengqi’s song? Yikes!), everything went well, thank God! And now it’s time to thank some people who really rose up to the occasion!

Thank you Edwin, your slides were fab and stood out from the rest! Thank you for your help even so late into the night!

Thank you Su Ting & Kelvyn for your invaluable advice and guidance and just being there on Sunday! Couldn’t have done it without you guys!

Thanks Josephine for preparing the slides, titlebars and ensuring everything was OK!

Thanks Karen, Shuping, Debbie, Zhengyang, Aswin for serving your very best on Sun, had fun with you guys!

Edmund preaching!

Kudos also to Jared, Jerb & Amber who were also on stage to make announcements and introduce guests and of course Joe who got to host Chen Meng Qi. You can read about his experience here!

Till the next decentralised service =)

Mission Trip Send-off

Joe went off on a mission trip to Malang on Fri nite! It’s his first ever mission trip and without a doubt, he’s excited about it! But he definitely wasn’t the only one excited! See below for photos for his team of missionaries who were all looking forward to it too!

Joy was all prepared for the trip, with hand cream and all… eerr… you going on mission trip or going on holiday?

Group check-in – Joe said he felt that he was bringing kids out on an excursion! Hahha!

Point proven from above photo!

Nathan was there to send them off too!!

Sooooooo cute!! He was so excited to see his photo on Joe’s phone!

Oops… I forgot to take a photo of the team and my beloved hubby!

Do keep them in prayer that they will do great and mighty works and be able to speak a word in season to the people there! I’m sure Joe will have lots of stories to share and I’m looking forward to hearing them!! Take care dear and everyone else! =)))
